Blind pursuits.
Who: Solaire of Astora and Lautrec of Carim
Where: Anor Londo
Summary: A chance meeting between two fools hoping Anor Londo will have all the answers they need.
Warnings: None.
Getting this far into the main castle, the divine abode of Lord Gwyn, had not been an easy task. The gods had certainly guaranteed some incredible trials to test the might of all warriors who would enter their city. Even Solaire, with his enormous brute strength and will of iron, was exhausted by the climb.
Worse yet, the effort was so far proving fruitless. He was in the house of his god, the God of Sunlight, where the Princess of Sunlight resided deeper within...
And yet it wasn't here either. His own Sun eluded him, even in a place so beautiful, so divine as this. And so he sat by the fire, resting for the night, just... absorbed in thought.
The only thing that broke him from his thoughts was the sound of armor rattling as someone came through the nearby door. Not a Silver Knight... they avoided this place, a sacred place for the undead to rest their weary bones. It had to be another undead, then...
The gold armor was brilliant, and Solaire sat up straighter when he realized he recognized it. Ahh, yes, this one had fought alongside him to help his companion reach the bell towers. He'd never caught his name in that time, having exchanged no words, but had admired his strategy and skill in combat.
"Oh, hello there, friend. Have you come for a rest? I assure you this place is safe." The sunlight knight removed his helmet out of politeness, setting it in his lap, and giving Lautrec a warm smile.

His twin weapons still hung at his sides for a moment before he decided that it was likely nothing to worry about. They didn't fight around the bonfire, even Lautrec respected that, and so he placed his weapons back into their places before he took a seat across from the other knight before he took his helm off as well.
"Mh, I see", he said then, settling in.

"I will be resting here for the night, I invite you to join me, to celebrate our making it into the city of the gods! I am thoroughly impressed you've mad it so far." Solaire leaned forward, taking in the featuress of the other. His voice was rougher than he'd expected. "I am Solaire of Astora. What is your name?"
no subject
"Hmmm, perhaps I shall", he responded, almost as if he were actually debating whether or not he intended to remain here for the night, though there was really no contest in the end.
He was carefully looking over Solaire as well, trying to assess what he really felt about the man so far. "Lautrec of Carim. This looks like a good place for some reprieve..."

Solaire reached across the fire, golden flask of estus in his hand. "Care for a drink, my friend? You must be exhausted." He figured the knight probably carried his own (and while sitting at bonfires, they were infinitely replenished) but thought he would offer on the off chance he didn't.

He held up a finger to turn the man's offer of Estus down, going to pull his own out. "Thank you, but I have my own", he said, his voice drawling, but not necessarily displeased in tone.

"Ah, of course. I suppose an undead wouldn't be caught dead without it... Or, rather, I suppose he would be!" He chuckled a bit at his own bad joke as he brought the flask to his lips and drank. Warmth flooded through his body, even though the bonfire made it quite redundant. The sensation, brief as it was, was comforting.
He set his flask aside and smiled at the fellow knight. "Ahh, so what brings you here to the city of the gods? Another undead pilgrim?"
